"I don’t usually leave reviews, but I wanted to share my experience in hopes it helps others considering Derek. From the beginning, I made it clear that I was willing to pay more than agreed if the job was done properly and to a high standard. During installation, my child was sick and I was also dealing with a personal situation, so I couldn’t monitor the work closely. I trusted Derek, and he assured me everything would be handled correctly. After the work was completed, I noticed several issues and shared photos with him. He acknowledged some of them and said he would address them, but unfortunately there was no follow-up. I also did not receive responses to my calls or messages, and my number was eventually blocked. I was only able to reach him recently by calling from a different number. Some of the issues included fence alignment being off and the door lock not being installed. In addition, there are visible concrete marks left on the fence, missing caps on posts near the gates, and open holes on posts where drilling should not have been done in the first place. It’s frustrating to see these issues every time I try to enjoy my backyard, especially after trusting the work would be completed to a good standard. Overall, this has been a very frustrating experience. I hope this feedback helps improve communication and follow-through for future customers. This is in response to fence company owner’s comments on my review: To clarify some of the concerns/comments: • Fence alignment is uneven on one side. The post heights should have been adjusted to keep the fence parallel to the ground rather than following the slope of the pavers. • For the double drive gate, we had agreed not to install a drop rod to avoid drilling another hole into the pavers. Before final payment, I was told an alternate latch solution would be installed for stability, but that was never completed. • There are multiple unnecessary drilled holes/poke-yoke marks, which suggests measurements were not correct during installation. • The job site was left with visible concrete marks on posts and sections of the fence without cleanup. • Some fence bars were left with open holes, which are now being used by lizards/insects. • Several posts were left without caps. These may seem like small items individually, but together they reflect lack of attention to detail and incomplete follow-through after concerns were raised."

"We highly recommend Ancient City Fencing and do so every chance we can. We met and received bids from 2 other, probably larger fencing companies. When Derek came out he assured us he'd be here everyday of the installation both working and supervising and he was. From tbe start once we accepted the scope and pricing we felt very comfortable giving our material deposit when normally I'd be reluctant. Derek and crew are very meticulous and hard working. After completion, we noticed something very minor and he came out the following day to fix and inspected everything else to be safe. He's also given us ideas on other project's and names. Dealing with them was very refreshing especially considering the negative experience we've had with others, primarily our home builder. Once again, we'd give Ancient City Fencing much higher than the max of 5 stars and very highly recommend."
